Saturday 23rd. February 2013

Members of Spitfire Judo & Sombo Club, Capel & Hawkinge, braved the weather and a 8 o'clock start, to make the 250 mile round trip to visit Russell Dodds' Bedford Grappling Academy. Colin Carrott, Kerrie Penfold (Head coaches) and students Mike Rudkin and Jack Sproston represented the club at this Saturday Morning training session. Our thanks go to Russell for making us feel welcome and for the refreshments he provided at The Red Lion afterwards!
Our next club visit will be to Faversham in March.

Bash Night

What a Great Night just when you get disappointed with peoples attitude in wanting to work or train, along comes the Bash night. You could smell the sweat and adrenaline 3/4 hour groundwork, 3/4 hour of  standing Grappling all done by the sounds of Status Quo.

Special mention to Ken Cassell 66 years old and George Holbrook 61 years old still grappling with the youngsters. There was no I am to old to do this Grappling and lets not forget the youngest 12 year lewis Clarke who now trains with the men, its a shame more youngsters do not have that get up and go. Grapplers from Sittingbourne, Sheppey, Dartford, Faversham and Folkestone were all in attendance. The next Bash will be on a Saturday morning in a moths time in Faversham.
